Asheweig River Camps

At Asheweig River Camps both the management and staff are dedicated to providing their guests with a memorable outdoor experience in an authentic environment. A fully furnished rustic log cabin awaits you at the river's edge. All the camps amentities are first rate and include hot and cold water, Modified American or Housekeeping Plan, showers, woodstove heating, satellite telephones, verandas, propane BBQ and fire pits.

The Camp offers world class trophy fishing against a backdrop of spectacular Canadian wilderness. Fish for wild Speckled Trout, Walleye and Northern Pike in the area's abundant lakes and river rapids. Experienced local guides accompany anglers along the Asheweig River and Shibogama Lake to ensure that everyone enjoys a world class fishing adventure regardless of their ability.

The Camp also offers traditional hunting for Moose in unspoiled and endless forests just as nature intended it. Enjoy stunning scenery and abundant wildlife as the camps local Oji-Cree guides lead you across wild hunting terrain.

Asheweig River Camps offer direct charters from Thunder Bay to Kasabonika Lake via Wasaya Airways, ground transporation to a fully furnished 6-person guest cabin, new 16' Lund SSV with 25 hp Mercury, local guides, trained camp attendants and area maps.  

Vista Lake Outfitters

Vista Lake Outfitters is the only outfitter on a fantastic 12 mile long body of water known as Vista Lake. Five gorgeous modern log cabins are strategically located along the shore of the lake to ensure total privacy, quick access to the best fishing spots and the most beautiful views. In fact you can successfully fish right off the dock at most of the cabins.

The cabins are a minimium of 1 mile apart. The camp offers Walleye and Northern Fishing around plenty of islands and secluded bays. The camp offers 14' Lund boats with 9.9 H.P Yamaha motors. The lake is not prone to rough water plus there is a boat ramp if you want to bring your own boat. 

Vista Lake Outfitters also offers Moose Hunting, Bear Hunting, Fall wolf and grouse hunts available.

The business has been owned and operated by Dennis and Evelyn Mousseau for many succesful years. Son Ryan is now managing the operation.  

All cabins include screened in porches, gas BBQ, Sauna (Beach camp), Hot Water, Solar Lights, Fridge and Stove, 4-piece baths and screened in fish house.

Echoing Lake Lodge

Echoing Lake Camp is on beautiful Paradise Island .. 350 air miles north of Sioux Lookout Ontario. They are the only camp on the lake which is 12 miles long, 7 miles wide and is crystal clear and spring fed. There is fantastic trophy Northern Pike and Lake Trout fishing with numerous large fish caught and released everyday. Groups of 4 to 8 guests are their speciality but groups of 18 can be accomadated very comfortably.

The camp offers all the comforts of home with all inclusive American Plan Packages. Stay in Deluxe cabins with hot showers, sauna and flush toilets. There is also on-site phone and Internet service and a screened in gazebo.

The camp also offers daily fly-in fishing trips to Yelling Lake or one of their other lakes for fast action Walleye and Speckled Trout fishing.

Hunting packages are also available with an allotment of 8 adult tags ( 6 bulls and 2 cows) each year which makes your chances of a successful hunt very high. All you need to bring is your hunting gear and clothing and the camp will look after all the rest!

The camp is owned by the Sachigo First Nation .. Titus Tait is the Chief and the camp is under the very capable management of Dryden native Andy Tardiff. 

 

Mattice Lake Outfitters

Mattice Lake Outfitters offers Fly- In fishing and hunting trips from their main base in Armstrong, Ontario. With over 40 years of experience under the ownership of the Elliot family, Mattice Lake Outfitters offers fly - in vacations via floatplane north to 2 small wilderness lodges and 9 deluxe outpost camps. The 9 lakes range in size from 2000 to 25,000 acres, offering truly spectacular walleye and northern pike fishing and additional angling for species such as lake trout, brook trout, sturgeon and whitefish.

Cabins of log or frame construction are fully equipped with propane refrigerators, propane ranges, solar lights, wood stoves for heat (plus plenty of firewood), beds with mattresses, all cooking and eating utensils, handmade pine furnishings and plenty of ice for packing your fish. All camps are equipped with late model Lund boats; late model 9.9 horsepower Mercury motors (plus spares) and an unlimited supply of gas.

Treat yourself to a successful fly-in Moose Hunt this year. Mattice Lake Outfitter's high success rates are attributed to healthy, plentiful herds as well as their surveillance of their movements. You can choose to hunt from one of their 9 fully equipped outpost camps, 2 lodges or from one of their tent camps on lakes used for moose hunting only.

They also offer canoe trips in Wabakimi Wilderness Park, the Albany & Kopka Waterway Parks. Progress has not created access other than by floatplane from their main base in Armstrong and as such you can anticipate a truly spectacular and peaceful wilderness setting with unforgettable fishing, abundant wildlife and great scenery. 

 

Northumbrian Resort & Fly-in Camps

Northumbrian Resort is located just south of Sioux Lookout Ontario, sheltered by the towering pines on the shore of Abram Lake. It is a drive to family style resort with fly-in and boat in options. Friendly camp staff offer semi-guided bear hunts, American Plan Moose hunts or 100% on your own Moose hunts. The resort and outposts are all Light Houskeeping and a trailer park and tenting area are on the grounds. A pefect place for swimming activities, hiking and just relaxing in the sun.

The cabins are all delightfully comfortable.. heated by oil with electric lighting, refridgeration and electric ranges. All cooking equipment is supplied including dishes, silver and tableware, plenty of blankets, bed linen and towels. There are cabins with 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedrooms. All have inside flush toilets, showers or baths, lavatories and hot and cold approved water.

Boats, motors, gas and guides are available at the camp. All shopping and other services are in Sioux Lookout about 3 miles from the camp... churches, stores, dances, movies, golf, liquor store, doctors and photo services.  

The camp also offers American Plan fishing upon request. Boat rentals, bait and pick up services are also available. It is truly a Fisherman's Paradise! Fish for Walleye, smallmouth bass, Northern Pike, Lake Trout and mean fighting Muskie.

Fishing is available on Minnitaki, Abram, Pelican, Lost Lake and Lac Seul. The Camp offers new 25 hp Mercury motors, safe 16' aluminum boats that will allow you to enjoy a peaceful, quiet and scenic wilderness vacation with a scrumptious shorelunch to boot!

 

 

 

Wesley Fly-in Camps

Wesley's Fly-in Outpost Camps are located on Kecheckagen Lake and Yates Lake. Kecheckagan and Yates are tributaries of the Pipestone River system with fast waters for excellent fishing and exploring, wilderness forests with an abundance of wildlife. The main camp location west of Horseshow Lake on Pipestone is protected from the northwest prevailing winds, with panoramic views of the lakes. Each camp is the only cabin on the lake. They are 25 minutes from the Cat Lake First Nation by float plane and 40 minutes by air from Pickle Lake, Ontario.  

Fishing at the Wesley outposts have produced delicious walleye and fighting northern pike. The Lakes continuously provide prolific fishing experiences. The Pipestone River system provides many miles of shorelines, Islands and water systems with fast rapids to fish during the hot sunny days of summer. The outpost cabins offer a housekeeping plan with comfortable rustic furniture. Solar powered lighting and water pumps, hot and cold running water, indoor showers and toilets, utensils, BBQ's, Simmons mattresses and box springs, gas stoves, vented fridges and glass door wood stoves. Each outpost also has 12x12 decks and 14' Lund boats,15 hp Mercury motors, paddles, life jackets, survival gear and shore lunch boxes.

During the fall, Wesley's offers moose hunts and to increase your hunting success rate they provides an experienced local Aboriginal Guide with your hunting group so you're able to find the "best" locations where the moose have been seen or left signs of recent activities.  


Fin and Feather Hunting and Fishing Resort

Fin and Feather Resort on famous Eagle Lake, Ontario is a hunting and fishing lodge that offers American Plan, Housekeeping and Cabin specials. The property consists of a main lodge with 6 comfortable suites as well as 7 cabins on the property. Fin and Feather has a fully licenced lounge and restaurant for your dining pleasure. They offer Deer, Duck and Wolf hunts and fishing for trophy Muskie, Walleye, Northern Pike and Bass.

Savanne River Resort

Savanne River Resort & Campground is located 70 miles northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario on Hwy 17, just 12 miles east of Upsala, Ontario. The resort is on the Savanne River which leads into the famous Lac des Mille Lacs. The lake (French for Lake of a Thousand Lakes) has many islands, bays, inlets, channels and shoals and is famous for its excellent Walleye and Northern Pike fishing.

The on-site cabins offer both American plan and Housekeeping packages that include boat, motor, and 10 gallons of gas, 2dz bait per boat day, maid service and freezer service. The boats are 16' Aluminium with 20 hp motors. Canoes are also available and if you bring your own boat there is a small launching fee with boat docking available. Marine gas, souvenirs, groceries, ice, guide service, fish cleaning, live bait, Laundromat and freezer service are all available. The campground has overnight and seasonal rates that include power and water with 30 amp service. Camping is located on the river and canals. Hot showers, swimming, hiking, a playground and campfire pits are added amenities. 

Moose hunts are popular in this area but the camp provides accommodation only. They do not have moose tags so anyone wishing to hunt from the resort must apply for tags in WMU's 12B, 15A & 15B. Bear, deer, game birds and waterfowl hunts are all available in season. The camp also offers ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing. The Main Trans Canada snowmobile trail runs through the camps' property. The camp is owned by the Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation and managed by Quentin Snider, his cell number is 807-620-0794 

Wabakimi Wilderness Canoeing and Fishing

Wabakimi Wilderness Canoeing + Fishing Outfitters operartes within the world's largest wilderness Canoeing reserve. The business offers guests outstanding guided or unguided canoe trips with full or partial outfitting services. The main base lodge is located off the Frontier Trail , Hwy 527 in Armstrong Ontario and is managed by long-time staffers Bert & Brenda Zwicker. Maps, licences, permits and other Wabakimi travel information is available at the lodge which is a perfect place for family or business retreats. Floatplane charters are also available as are train-in and fly-in trips to remote fishing and hunting outposts.
